We specialize in the design and fabrication of premium grade Custom Air Handling units and high efficiency air filtration systems for the removal of general airborne contaminants as well as toxic chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) contaminants.

ABOUT ACT-ISD
ACT-ISD began working with the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACOE) in 2000 to develop a new generation of chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) air handling systems. These special systems were named Enhanced Filtration Units (EFU) and they would be utilized to remove CBR contaminants from the outside air stream, properly condition the air and provide pressurization of building spaces for the protection of building occupants. The USACOE specifications for these new generation air handling systems required performance levels that were not typically available by most AHU manufacturers. The USACOE commissioning and factory and field testing requirements are some of the most demanding in existence and unattainable for most AHU manufacturers.
Today ACT-ISD is proud to be the leading manufacturer of these specialized CBR air handling units. ACT-ISD has manufactured and installed hundreds of specialized CBR air handling systems for the US Government and the USACOE.
FIELD BUILT ACT CUSTOM AIR HANDLING UNIT
BEFORE: Existing 50,000 CFM AHU
AFTER: New ACT Field Built Unit
The existing unit was 45 years old and had surpassed its useful service life. ACT installed this 50,000 CFM, field erected air handling unit at the US Army Adelphi Research Laboratory. The new ACT unit includes our 3” foam injected 100% thermal break R-20 casing, aluminum interior & exterior liners, minimum O/A combination damper AFS, air blender, MERV-15 filters, humidifier, hot and chilled water coils and dual direct drive fans. Final on-site testing showed less than .5% air leakage at 10” wg.
