Valley Baptist Hospital, in Harlingen TX, working with Rhodes Engineering, was looking to upgrade its aging air handler system. The hospital didn’t have a comprehensive list of their existing air handler units and many units did not have the original design criteria.
ACT’s design group worked with the engineer of record to enhance air handling efficiency at Valley Baptist. We provided an accelerated air handling unit production schedule and assisted in the field verification of all existing units. ACT provided a “pre balance” report for each unit and worked with Rhodes to consider options and select air handlers that can accommodate present and future demands for the hospital. The new units were purchased through / manufactured by ACT and installed on a schedule that reduced downtime and minimized impact to the hospital’s most critical areas. Having a clear picture of the entire system has helped simplify maintenance of the new air handlers, reduce costs, and keep hospital patients, staff and visitors comfortable.
